Shuffle (2011). I saw this last night on Netflix streaming and really enjoyed it. A man finds he is living his entire life out of chronological order and must figure out why.
Be warned: It's a low-budget production. There are occasional choices which will make you cringe in terms of direction and scoring. Also, maybe it doesn't all add up in the end. But it added up enough for me.
But I liked the light-fantasy/sci-fi, and there was a lot of symmetry (for which I am a big sucker). Also, I think I enjoyed every scene with Grace, she brought a pleasant dose of "acting" to the film.
Before "Shuffle" I watched "Die": 6 people are kidnapped at their moment of suicide and forced to execute each other by the same means as they meant to kill themselves. I was hoping it would be awesome like Saw or so-bad-its-good like Nine Dead (starring Melissa Joan Hart). It was just meh.
What are some quality films you've seen recently on Netflix Streaming? I usually really like films that begin with a big bowl of wtf and we slowly figure out why throughout the film.
P.S. Whats the code for spoiler text?

We are watching the typical, breaking bad & walking dead. I can't handle straight drama. I can never get into caring about the stories or chars.

The Darwin Awards Wristcutters: A Love Story Neverwhere Cashback Hebrew Hammer My Name is Bruce
These are ones I watched first on netflix for sure, but I don't know if some have drifted off. I should ask Lessa. She is home all day now since we have < 1 month left to go before baby cannon fires. She's watched every sci-fi thing on netflix I bet.

Shows:
Wherehouse 13- pretty cool show, it kinda tries to be X-Files but it's more magic/fantasy sci-fi.
Damages- super addicting! It's a legal drama but really soapy with all the stuff that goes down.
Terra Nova- future humans travel to past earth to colonize and start over. Humans v. Dinosaurs v. Bad Humans. There's only one season but it works as a stand alone mini series.
Movies:
Extract - indie/cult comedy.. surprisingly witty Jiro Dreams of Sushi - if you're a foodie you'll love this Chinatown- if you're a cinefile
I wish you could view the list of everything you've watched on your account, I'd have a lot more suggestions.

Dan and I used to trade horrible netflix streaming movies. I saw one where this couple was on acid and couldn't figure out if the horror was really happening. The best scene is where these bushes brush against their face while the walk through the woods screaming in horror at the scary bushes.
I have "Thankskilling" queued for after Halloween, and I hope it's as awful as it looks.

I am bringing "Enter the Void" to our lil shindig this weekend. It is an effed up movie, but the psychadelic DMT sequence at the beginning is the best hallucinogenic audio/video experience I have ever seen.

I'm not really into trippy movies unless they rhyme with "Clearer Flask" or "Clearance Clothing in Las Vegas"
I'm all about the payoff. Confuse me for 1.5 hours and then show the lead character unwittingly commit incest, or secretly be the gang leader, or sees dead people.

I know wristcutters isn't on Netflix anymore, not even hard dvd copy. Maybe they jacked up their lease once they became a huge cult hit.
Also, I can't stop thinking about Shuffle. As I'm replaying it in my mind, I'm noticing subtle nuances and double-meanings that are just mind-blowing. Annie, we might have to watch that if I'm staying over, it's making my scalp tingle like those old Selson Blue commercials.

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring not for everyone but a great movie out of Korea I dunno, I feel like the title kind of spoils the ending

If you like movies where each scene is like a small piece of a puzzle, which comes together at the very end, then I recommend "The Illusionist".

Whoa whoa. Just watched shuffle. So so good. I love movies like this. So glad I watched it. Yes! I'm so glad you liked it!! Last night I watched Solitude, where a couple camps on a small island in the Great Barrier Reef, and scary things happen. It was okay. I was certainly surprised that such a simple plot could have so many gaping holes in it, but okay. Then I tried to watch "Cashback," which was supposedly about an artist who could freeze time. I have never seen so many naked women in a movie, ever. It was really distracting to the point where I just turned it off half-way through. Reading ahead in the plot, it looks like it gets better right after where I turned it off. And I like naked women so I'll probably go back to it. Then I put on Melancholia as I fell asleep. I strongly suspect it's going to become a movie entirely about feelings, at which point I will stop watching. But the first 10 minutes are visually intense and provocative enough for me to want to give it the full try.
