Malcolm are going to be our kids' names, in all likelihood. For the middle names, Maxwell and Renny (family name). My dad kept rooting for Malcolm's middle name to be Xavier even though he "doesn't like black people names"
What are some weird names of people you have known? Once knew a dude named Hymen Brochs, no kidding (pronounced Brokes)

Malcolm was my pick and Calvin was Evan's favorite. My favorite part about Malcolm is my sons full name is Malcolm Andrew Litton, so Mal is a double nickname! Plus it fulfilled our requirement to be sci-fi related.

I'm more than proud of you for not doing the twin thing where parents name their twins similar sounding names, or names that start with the same letter. It just messes with them.

Yes. My wife was named after a character in the Dragon Riders of Pern series.

When I saw this thread title, I thought it was making a play on the fact that we had another thread called "Hobbs".
The best name ever was the first commissioner of baseball, Kenesaw Mountain Landis. I have been planting the seeds with Elena to earmark that name or some variant.

This is an absoutely true story.... While dating my husband, he had mentioned that he had second cousins who were twin girls named Ree Klein and Dee Klein. I didn't believe him for a minute.... Fast forward a few years later when I was in college...chatting with some friends about weird names and one of them says, "You're not going to belive this, but I went to junior high with two girls named Ree and Dee Klein!" I guess every family tree has a few nuts to keep things interesting!

I've always loved dishing about names! I have 11 younger siblings and by the time #10, #11, and #12 were born there were enough of us, and we were old enough, to have major pow-wows around the table about what their names should be. The last two didn't have names until they were a couple of weeks old!
I always thought Katella would be a nice girl's name if it wasn't a freeway offramp near Disneyland. One of my sisters really liked the sound of "Nausea" as a name...if only it didn't mean what it means, she always said!

Our girl names our Penelope Joan (Penny) and Persephone Jane (Poppy). The middle names are in honor of my grammy Joan and Evan's grandma Juanita. And we just loved the idea of Penny and Poppy. Cute.
But the ultrasound leaves little doubt that we gotz us some men baking up in there. Maybe next time. I am, apparently, predisposed to multiple pregnancy.

You can always raise one of the boys as a girl, just for kicks.

You could refer to your sons collectively by yelling "MALVIN*"
*when yelling is necessary

Elena & I thought "CALMAL" worked pretty well

And Mal is the evil twin. That's what I say. But Mac is a family nickname for Annie so we're going with Cal and Mac currently.
