Does anyone understand anything from the Gazette beside we failed to find the murderer?

Maybe we have aliens on board? And perhaps the thing at the bottom of the lake is a spaceship?

Maybe it has something to do with dead people being able to play.

hahaha nope! What's up with all the IKEA solsta olarp ystad vreta??? psh!! If you know, then why not share? In fact, we could all share a little bit more. Sharing is caring. I'll start: Chris's story how he got axed from the CIA after butting heads with Amer is baloney - its just a cover so he can go on low profile missions.

I waited too long and your comment posted before mine, I was responding to Son's initial question "does anyone know what's going on?" not saying "haha nope" to aliens being aboard the ship.

A) Evan was probably drunk while writing the Gazette, and the Gazette was short on story this week, so he threw in some cheap furniture filler.
B) Evan said if we find the murderer quickly, the game will revert to "humans vs aliens vs ancients". He appears to be sowing those seeds, just in case.
C) I have suspected for a while that aliens may be involved in our predicament...
I believe that the virus may be alien in origin, which is why Dr. Quizzleberry can't make heads or tales of it. There's also the matter of the city of Mildville, which was buried under Lake Mildville many decades ago. Rumor has it that there was an altercation between humans and aliens and ancients (whatever that is) there. Aliens might also explain the appearance of US government agents here. I suspect that this may eventually lead back to the murder. Well, uh, the first murder, anyway.
Since we're sharing, I'll come clean: I have also contracted the virus. I've had my people working on it but... well, socialized healthcare isn't the fastest system in the world, so the best they could up with is that I contracted the disease through a glass from which I was drinking at the Save Lake Mildville fundraiser that's recently become a topic of interest. An important thing to note is that the glass contained my own concoction: strawberry soda, vodka, and a bullion cube. I highly doubt that my glass got confused with someone else's, which suggests that my contracting the disease was no accident.
My first thought was that former CIA director Chris Supiron infected me with a military supervirus, but he wasn't at the fundraiser, which means someone there could have been acting as an agent for him. That puts the sites squarely on Col. Kyle Swiftborne, whom I've also had issues with in the past (apparently). Although I wouldn't necessarily rule out any of the other members of the fundraiser as potential CIA assets: Andy, Mike, Judy, Paula.
However, I also realize there's a possibility that the virus is extraterrestrial and that it was delivered by an alien that has assumed human form. This leaves me with Mike, Judy, Kyle, or Paula potentially being alien assassins! Whatever the case, I'll be keeping my eyes on those four members of the ship.

Now that's some good sharing! Just for that I'm exalting Amer. Is there any reason that someone would want both Amer and Evan dead? And Sarah? Or are all these murders and attempted murders just coincidence?
(Evan was not drunk or hung over. Just very tired because he gets up super early to work).

I think there are clues buried in the double talk in this week's Gazette that has more than entertainment value. For instance, the use of 'Scam'dinavians, (who might be perpetrating a scam on us); and, the 'modern electronics aboard ship' (who might this relate to and what would be the benefit of modern electronics--to detect a treasure buried under the sea?). Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to match up anything to our passenger list descriptions, but, unlike Amer, I'm keeping my eye on all of you (well, maybe not Andy or Dan).

This is what I know about the virus I agree that aliens are involved. My suspicion is that some sort of alien force takes over the host and controls them. The host did not want to kill, but they couldn't stop it.

Farrell's "new thing" could be modern electronics, and Dan [RIP] mentioned something about technology in one of his few posts. Here are some questions that could be important to answer: What was the benefit for? Who got married on the Pollyanna? Why did you vote for Farrell?

I'd love to see the algorithm that Amer used to come up with his theories today! While I, too, suspect that there might be aliens among us, I'm not sure how he came up with the list that he did...with myself included among the chosen few.
Too bad about Amer getting the infection....kind of takes the FUN out of Fundraiser! I would agree that he likely fell victim to someone who was present at that event. Do we know that Dan (RIP) was not there? I think he was mentioned as having done some worldly traveling at some point....of course, if we're talking about an out-of-this-world virus, who knows who is reponsible.
In other words....I'm not yet seeing things any clearer and I welcome any theories that can be bandied about. The more chatter, the more chance of someone slipping up and letting something out.

I don't know what the benefit was for. It only matters that someone was infected if infecting them leads us to the murderer which means--what does the murderer think that the P.M. and Captain Evan have in common?
I can't imagine what getting married on the Pollyanna, or anything on the Pollyanna has to do with the murder.
I voted for Farrell because he said that "maybe" you were the bride. This sounded to me like he knew you weren't and was trying to deceive.
Frankly, I think we're drifting away from the question, what is the benefit of eliminating Captain Evan.
Amer--can you devise a plan where we graph all of our clues and see what threads might lead back to someone benefiting from the Captains demise?
