Okay I just finished Cashback. How can I put this artistically? I found it to be double plus not good. I found the story to be a tremendous mess and the characters completely unlikable. Main dude freezes time and then rips the clothing off of women, and I'm supposed to like him?
It did have one AMAZING scene, which has stuck in my brain because it was never resolved. I think later today I'm going to write up that scene and see if I can make a nice short script to resolve it, just as a writing exercise.
Anyway in this scene, main character has been freezing time and just generally poking around while everyone is frozen. He freezes time at a soccer game, and goes inside to buy a drink. Once inside, something's not quite right among all the frozen people. Main character zeroes in on someone oddly dressed for a soccer stadium, in a grey hoodie. Main character approaches grey hoodie, grey hoodie springs to life and runs away.
My final word? Skip this film and just watch like 6 episodes of "Out of this World"
Still, I'm glad I watched it, so keep those recommendations coming. The Illusionist was okay, I only read the script though. What I realize I like about Shuffle is that the supernatural element is constantly present, but not too overbearing.

King of the Hill still streams every episode of Netflix. Best sitcom of all time, I run it near-constantly:
Hank: Bill, you're shoelace is untied Bill (cheerfully): Oh, hey, I thought I removed the laces from these shoes.
I can't watch it at work anymore because I get distracted by laughing at jokes I've heard 10 times.
So because True sat down and watched all of my movie recommendation, I let her try to get me into anime.
Full Metal Alchemist and FMA: Brotherhood are both on Netflix streaming, and she requested I watched the first 3 episodes.
I watched the first 4 episodes, I don't think I'll watch any more. It was good, the plot was cool, but too much fantasy kept me a bit confused.

I watched cashback. Wasn't too good. Not quite even sure what the plot was. Main character was boring. There wasn't really any setup for the romance so why should I care if those two end up together at end.

I've heard two people who's opinion I respect say they like the movie. However, to me it was only a movie in the sense that the pictures move.
Watch shuffle Sarah!

Elena & I just watched Shuffle aka the 1.5 hour advertisement for Provigil. Just kidding! It was OK reminded me of Memento. Like Evan said I don't think it totally made sense in the end but it was enjoyable enough. I could have done without the weird artsy bloom lighting that pervaded the movie, but it had an interesting idea at its core.

Like Evan said I don't think it totally made sense in the end but it was enjoyable enough. I could have done without the weird artsy bloom lighting that pervaded the movie, but it had an interesting idea at its core. I could've done without like 100 directorial and scoring choices made in that film. I really loved the story, though. I wouldn't mind seeing it remade as like a 30 or 60 minute TV special. Thanks for watching. Here's what I've watched on streaming lately: The Caller: Woman starts getting calls from a troubled lady who claims to be calling from 1979. I liked this one a lot. It's gems like these that keep me sifting through all these crap supernatural thrillers. Thankskilling: A foul-mouthed turkey killed college students. Believe it or not, I'd watch this again. It walked the line between so-bad-it's-good and not-another-teen-movie self-awareness of how bad it was. House of Voices: Lady takes care of a haunted orphanage. I couldn't tell if it was my tiny screen or what, but I didn't see a single piece of evidence that the orphanage was remotely haunted until like 80 minutes in. I found this film to be garbage because it was advertised as a supernatural thriller. The main character keeps finding "sinister clues" as to a horrible plot which took place in the orphanage, but never let's us in on what the clues actually have to do with anything (oh look I found a drawing of a guy with a triangle for a nose- DUNDUNDUN the plot thickens?) Repeaters: Recovering drug addicts find themselves in a Groundhog Day situation. I only watched 15 minutes of this story, but there was absolutely no attempt to make any of the other characters likeable, so I fell asleep. Enter the Void: Wow this is a good movie for the likes of Netflix streaming. The trip scene in the beginning is one of the all-time-best, and the techniques are just amazing. It reminds me a lot of Citizen Kane in that it dissects a man's persona at the end of his life, and it has a whole bunch of camera techniques that are considered "nouveau" but might one day be standard. ADULT THEMES, though... really adult. It's like "The Wall" in that it's a movie about stoners for stoners, but it's a horrible film to get stoned at (except for the first 15 minutes).

Tonight, LIZ AND DICK is playing on Lifetime at 9/8 central. This was my first SAG-AFTRA acting role. I play the role of Elizabeth Taylor's and Richard Burton's chauffeur. In the scene where people are taking pictures of them at some hotel or something, I might be seen opening the door for them. It's on tonight at 9/8 central.

Hub & I just watched "Brick" I wanted some suspense. The Dick Tracy speaking style through out the entire movie slightly annoyed me. It was a lil murder mystery though, I enjoyed that part.

Looks like you may have been part of perhaps the worst TV movie of all time. You had mentioned how much the cast complained about working crazy hours for no real reason. www.heavy.com/news/2012/11/liz-and-dick-lindsay-lohans-best-trainwreck-ever/Awesome! Also, Pontypool, on netflix streaming. If you like zombie films that are about the build-up more than the action (think the first part of 28 Days Later), this was pretty damn solid. Right now, the only films I'll watch are supernatural mysteries or supernatural thrillers. Which is weird because I don't even like the supernatural element to be that pervasive. When is a King of the Hill film coming out? Mike Judge can just voice Luanne.

I really liked this movie, even tho I generally don't go for arthouse films with no real script, plot, or acting. The art direction is phenomenal, and Gaspar Noe really goes crazy on camera work and there are so many times in the film where I wonder "how the hell did he film this shot?!" It is a hard movie to watch though. As Evan said, super adult stuff. Noe really likes to make his audience squirm (like his other film Irreversible).

Has anyone watched "Jack Frost" the scary B movie version yet? I have it in my queue because it looked like a so-bad-it's-good flick.

I watched it a long time ago, it was pretty bad but maybe if you were in the right mood it could be funny.

Iirc, Jack Frost first introduced the world to Shannon Elizabeth's breasts when she gets stabbed by a snowman in the shower.
I don't think I would recall that incorrectly.

Just watched Special. It was pretty good. Still ambivalent about the ending but I'm warming up. Although Michael Rapaport pretty much carries the entire movie on his broad acting back. This film made me realize how much that guy is my favorite actor.
Anyway, if you want a touch of the plot: A loser tries an experimental drug and develops superpowers. Only, those powers might all just be in his head.

OMG I just read that Rapaport named one of his kids after Maseo from De La Soul. Wow, that's my favorite hip hop group, too. I love this guy!
