It won't let me quote stabby's question to me, but the answer is yes.

To be fair, I actually didn't lie to Merlot almost the entire game. I only started lying to him on Night 7. I privately told Bsketchy, Farrell, and Codemonkey that I would block Merlot and to not be shocked when I tried. I lied to Merlot saying I was going to go block you and advised him to watch me. [/quote] Interesting. Bsketchy recently told me the only other person he communicated with outside of Castle Numbskull was Stinky, well before recent days.

Stabby - this was the statement Merlot shared in the private group:
"I watched stinkypete on Night 4. It says he did not visit anyone or was blocked."

I'm sorry for making things confusing. I thought Merlot could see what was going on with a player, instead of following them.
So then is it settled that Merlot has made trusted statements regarding his night power?
Or is there confusion with that? Because I'm still confused about this.

Correct. I mistyped earlier and unlike Mike, I do not edit my posts. The discrepancy was about the language on the "no visit or blocked" part of the statement, which is the result I got tracking stinkypete on night 4.

Merlot has made statements that are and consistent with the game mechanics. Since it is consistent with other trusted (but dead heroes), this is why they are "trusted". I also write "trusted" if I trust the "source". In most of the case, it is Merlot since he has an investigation power, while I technically do not. In hopes of making things more clear for you, here is a game mechanic rules directly from Evan from the rules thread: Good question. When you perform an action on someone, you visit them. So if I'm following player A and they role block player B, I will see player A visiting player B. If someone is following player B and player B is roleblocked, they will see player B visiting no one. To clarify: seeing a player visit no one is different than having your action fail.

According to game mechanics:
1. Mike blocks Stabby. Action successful. 2. Stabby blocks Merlot. Action failed (since he got blocked) 3. Merlot watches Stabby. Stabby visit no one.
All of these are consistent with the game mechanics. So at least with night 7, all actions are consistent and have no discrepancy.

Ok good to know that this checks out ok. Sorry to make things confusing. Thought this might have been an in.
Stabby, sorry for blocking you. If I didnt block you, and hypothetically speaking, if Merlot had the kiss of death, would you have been able to identify it with your block?

We should post our night action and results. Except for Bsketchy, since he has clone and only a day power.
Night 1: Went to block Farrell. Action Successful. Night 2: Went to block StinkyPete. Action Successful. Night 3: Went to block CodeMonkey. Action Successful. Night 4: Went to block CodeMonkey. Action Successful. Night 5: Went to block Buzzfly. Action Successful. Night 6: Went to block Mac. Action Failed. Night 7: Went to block Merlot. Action Failed.

If I didnt block you, and hypothetically speaking, if Merlot had the kiss of death, would you have been able to identify it with your block? In theory, yes. If you didn't block me and my night result was "action failed", then Merlot would for sure have the kiss of death. This is the same logic why I went after Mac.

It's my understanding that Stabby would've gotten a result that his action failed since the kiss of death is unblockable.

I don't recall if I went in-depth with Merlot and Bsketchy, but I have told Mike that our "block" powers have a secondary purpose. 'Kiss-of-death' detectors.
Since you were successfully able to block me last night. And Merlot says I visited no one.
There should be 100% no doubt in your mind that I am a villain.
Am I a compulsive liar? Yes. Am I a villain? Your own results should vindicate that I am not a villain.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have post editing lock 5 minutes after a post is made. This prevents people from changing the past, while also allowing them a grace window if they say something mean. Looking at my security log, there is frequently a post like "you are such a stupid dummy doodoo if you think that," which a few minutes later changes to, "I respectfully disagree."

Definitely guilty of post editing.😬 Has Evan confirmed this publicly anywhere regarding kiss of death detector? Not anywhere no. Although I don't know if that was Evan's "intended" feature of blockers. I just noticed "I can use it this way" and re-purposed my power to finding people with 'kiss of death'. This is, of course, learning that 'kiss of death' exists. Beforehand, I was assuming killing could be blocked, otherwise, I thought my power was more harmful to heroes than villains.
