Alright, back by popular request. I've made this one pretty hard, so let's see if you geniuses can crack it:
- I have created a series of clues, all of which are on these messageboards. - Unlike last time, there will be no red herring puzzles. If you find a puzzle, rest assured it leads onward, and not to a dead end. - As with the last one, this is not time sensitive. Everyone who solves it will get a shot at immunity - Deadline is as usual, this Monday at 5 PM PST UPDATE: Dead people can play. They will be scored separately and the winner will get to choose a player and nullify their vote on Thursday.
FIRST CLUE: IGNZO SLMNKTTAKP, KVL KPLMBIAR SLMNKTTA IK SLMN AZATKTTA G.D.

Not feeling very genius right now.......

Well for instance last year in the treasure hunt I had all the winners pick a number and whoever picked the lowest number that no one else picked won immunity. something like that this year although with some more twists

I'm with Paula on this one. I'm not making much progress and I doubt I'll reach the end of the treasure hunt by the deadline. Plus, I don't need immunity that badly.
Good luck to the players who do!

My favorite kind of challenge, right before finals week. I'll try, but I won't likely get it.

Solution: Only Stinky Pete got all four puzzles correct, although Rebecky and Peppperettte made it through to the end. Puzzle 1 was a cryptogram. I thought the last two letters "G.D." would eventually lead people to realize it was probably "A.M. or P.M." and that the entire solution was a date and time. Instead, many people tried to find the articles first, like in a standard cryptogram strategy, and were frustrated. The solution is April fourteenth Two Thousand Fourteen at four nineteen P.M. This is the timestamp for a post, a post made quite early in this incarnation of the game. Finding that post in the Roster section presented a word search puzzle, (attached). Starting at the very bottom left and reading diagonally backwards up to the very top right revealed "mildville gazette seven point seven" Looking at the archives for the 7.7 gazette, one would find that I have replaced it with a jumble: mildville.proboards.com/thread/299/7Noting that one of the jumble letters has an accent over it is a hint that all of the words are in French. The anagrams are: Sirene (mermaid) Gangsters (Gangsters) Demon (Demon) Bar Clandestine (Speakeasy) Taking the highlighted letters and rearranging them makes the phrase Bande Dessinée (comic book), which points to the Mildville Library entry for Comic Book Convention There, one finds a nonogram (attached), underneath which is written "Treasure Hunt" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NonogramSolving the nonogram reveals a picture of a train engine. This points to the mildville VII sub-board "The Engine." Going into that board and scrolling down reveals a post called "Treasure Hunt." Therein one reached the end of the hunt, and received the instructions, "Congratulations! You've reached the end of the Treasure Hunt for Mildville VIII: Send me (email or pm or text message) puzzle solutions and a letter of the English alphabet. FOR EACH CORRECT PUZZLE SOLUTION YOU INCLUDE, YOU MAY CHOOSE A LETTER (all four solutions = four letter choices. No solutions = you can't submit a letter, go solve some puzzles, silly.) Whomever submits the first letter, alphabetically, that no one else submits wins immunity." Stinky Pete won this part by submitting the letter A as one of his four guesses. Thanks for playing everyone! Attachments:

I think this might have been the best challenge yet. Although I entirely disagree with your decision to have a word jumble that is both an obscure comic book reference and a foreign language. There was just no way to descramble that unless you're familiar with the reference; there was no way to deduce it; and, most importantly, there was no way to continue past that point. I'm quite surprised that anyone got it. Speaking of which, three people somehow managed to complete the challenge. I'm going to have to be a bit snobby here and question how Stinky Valentino, Rebecky Pickford, and Peppperettte Paige, all managed to complete this challenge. I'd especially like to hear how they managed to decipher "Bande Dessinée" from "iened enbadses".
