Welcome!
As a tribute to the great work by George Ward and 6, I am continuing their Secret-themed treasure hunt with a series of puzzles based around the final 7 images/(suspected) locations. Please pay attention to these rules, so everyone can have the most fun:
- First and foremost, DON'T BOTHER GEORGE OR 6 ABOUT THIS! They are more than welcome to play, but have been through enough already. I want this to be a fan tribute to their fun puzzles, and not to our tendency to erode George's sanity. If I receive note that anyone sent him unwanted communication, especially texts, at weird hours, I will strongly consider removing the offending party from the hunt.
- This hunt is designed to be done singularly or as a group, and either when it goes live or on your own schedule. There should be enough items in my prize pool for everyone who finishes. If a group finishes, they will all get prizes.
- Each remaining image will have two puzzles associated with it: The first puzzle will reference an object or other such part of one of the seven remaining images, and will point you toward the city the image is generally thought to be associated with. Now, obviously we don't know for sure what real life objects the unsolved images represent, but I will use a popular interpretation. The second part will reference a person associated with the city.
- All images are here: thesecret.pbworks.com/w/page/22148559/FrontPage . You don't need to be familiar with the Secret to solve the puzzles, but you will need the image. The ones we will be using are images 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11
- To "solve" the puzzle, start with clue 1-A and figure out the object, then go to the next thread on the boards. For instance, if you just solved clue 1-A, go to clue 1-B... once you solve 1-B, go to 2-A, etc. These threads will be password protected, and the password is the object or person indicated by the corresponding puzzle. THE PASSWORD WILL ALWAYS BE ALL LOWERCASE. So, if you solve clue 1-A, and it's a "fleur de lis," then click on the clue 1-B thread and enter "fleur de lis" as the password.
- To win, get to the winner's circle (password is found by solving clue 7B), and post in there some way I can contact you (like, "hey I'm Zinc on the Journ6y FB page)
Prize pool will include, but is not limited to:
- Puzzle Agent 2 game on Steam (I made most of the puzzles for this)
- Random small video games on Steam (thanks humble bundles!)
- If you are above 21 and somewhere near me, I'll give you some crazy good beer
- A used copy of Masquerade
I'll come up with some more stuff once I clean out my garage do some insightful research.
Hunt goes up Monday, 5/28/18 at 7 PM PST. But, again, you don't need to be on right when the hunt starts, it'll all stay up for everyone to solve at their own leisure.
Best of luck! Feel free to post any questions or whatever in this thread. Take your discussion to the discussion thread: mildville.proboards.com/board/43/game-discussion
