Ok we need people to declare they are a hero and hope someone has some kind of power that can suss out a villain, super spying or hearing or empath or something. Otherwise we got nothing.

Anyone who won't publicly declare has got to be a target for a vote.

I said I was "good" in the other thread. I meant that to mean I am a hero.

As for this whole hero declaring tactic, a couple of players have already questioned its merits, since villains will absolutely state they are a hero if they're paying attention. I'm sure there are a few heroes who aren't paying attention, and will declare nothing. The whole idea could be a great way for a villain to make inexperienced players (me included) buy in to something that's only going to create confusion.

we re all open to suggestions as to how else we are going to get information. This is a shot in the dark but its better than nothing

I'm just saying someone promoting this plan might not have the best intentions. Especially someone who won immunity, and listed my name first even though I clearly stated I was good yesterday.

Well if they aren't paying attention to the game and what we're all doing... don't know what that says. I think it's a good way of potentially catching someone in a lie. The resistance to that idea is interesting considering all we have to type is that we're good and that's it.

I'm reading a lot of "I'm good.... but yadda yadda" and that's suspicious to me. I don't really join in on discussions because a lot of people take one piece of assumptive information and start to stretch it out to other assumptive things.

Also, bsketchy, how would the evil guys benefit from everyone claiming they were good? They know who's good already. We've put that little exercise into place and now we're getting people who are very resistant to typing "I am good" which is strange. Maybe I'm missing something here. Hypothetically speaking, how might they use a good person claiming they're good against them?

My point was there's a fair chance that every player claims they are good. How does that help the heroes? Even if someone has the power to discern truth from lie, they would have to check everyone, one by one, over several day cycles. I just don't see a quick return on that investment, while we lose another hero every night.

And I'm sorry. I don't have a better suggestion for weeding out evil besides overanalyzing every post. That's difficult when more than one player has only posted once or twice. Or, is that, in and of itself, suspicious?

That was my point. Villains will never say they are villains. So every player will claim to be a hero whether they are or not. Like Mac said, unless someone has the power to discern if someone is dishonest in a particular board post, it really serves no purpose.

Thats my hope though is that somehow the heros can use the powers to get a shot at figuring out who may be lying. Of course everyone will say they are heros but at least we have something to work with. I dont know all the powers or how they might be able to work so this may not work at all, but i don't think its much worse than not doing anything.

I agree. Regardless of any additional speculation about powers, nobody (certainly no hero) should have a problem making a post in this thread with the single sentence "I am a hero", like I did. Let's make it official. There have been some variations peopel have posted, but let's make it cut and dry. One sentence posts saying "I am a hero" .  We lose absolutely nothing in doing so and if you're right about the powers, the only people who would actively reject the proposal are shady.

Yeah, on the off chance the heroes can use that information, even if it takes a few cycles, it's worth it. I think another part of that was also seeing people's reactions to the proposal.

I also declared, not sure why Im on the list (Zac/Wednesday same thing). Look, it was a cool background I had on a wednesday and went with it. Clearly I'm a hero. . .used my power, spied on by amer, attemping to get us to kill someone.
